Nokia N86 8MP review: Lens wide open - read the full textYou may’ve thought Nokia lost their touch, you may be out of love with the Nseries but the Nseries are always keeping an eye on you. Their wide-angle, variable aperture eye. On you. Whether the Nokia...

Hi I had a Nokia N73 ME and just brought a N86 8MP.

Having used it for a week now .. I feel N86 could have been made better. Camera is okay with noisy pictures but could have been even better. Waiting for a much better firmware update.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-09-22 00:53 from q{Afeven i have the same question .. why would nokia do it ??

But unfortunately the quality of nokia phones made in china is very low grade compared to phones made in finland.

Over here M talking about the System software stability.

finland made phones are much stable than their chinese counterpart.

And i have observed this in most of N Series phone personally.

> In reply to Anti-Garbage @ 2009-09-08 23:32 from 0Usvwhy would a giant company like nokia set up factories in lets say, China, and intentionally tell them to build it with less quality than say, one made from finland?

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-06-25 21:12 from MYk9Ohh really? You say that there's no need for concern because it is Made in China?
Then I guess it would be ok for you it was Made in Papua New Guinea as well?... :))

Most Nokia users buy Nokia simply because they feel safe to buy a European product but now that its not so European anymore these people will stop buying Nokia! I'm one of these people and there are thousands of customers like me out there.

Don't judge us! Better try to understand us! We demand Made in Finland Nokia phones, not garbage made in china!

> In reply to Pratyay @ 2009-07-10 20:53 from 2SUnthat might be one review. From what I saw, I was unimpressed with how any of the cameras were handled. Generally, it was not a very fair test. Plus the synthetic resolution chart doesn't lie. It is very close.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-06-29 13:06 from MYk9That may be true, but when you are ditched into a pitch black environment, everybody will prefer xenon over LED. The reason is simple, xenon has the ability to illuminate every objects within a certain radius, making the image crisp and nice. LED on the other hand, is only good for taking video in low light conditions. Moreover, I always go to parties with my friends, thus the xenon flash plays a very important part in my daily life.

Yet, I cannot help but feel disappointed with the images taken by N82 and N86 at times. No matter how I tried to deny the fact, digital cameras will always overwhelmed mobile phones no matter how much the manufacturers say that the phone can substitute a real digital camera.

Nowadays, Sony has produced cameras that are thin enough to fit into pockets to be brought anywhere just like a mobile phone. So, if a larger and better sensor is not embedded into a mobile phone, then I daresay the day when mobile phones can replace digital cameras in our lives will never come.

Regards,
James

this one is for all including gsm arena, who(i don't know why) are saying that there is a better 8mp phone around.............. in all conditions n86 wins hands down, even the innov8 is not much of a challenge, though yes it has more detail in it's snaps.
