Nokia 6303 classic review: Euro hatch territory

Nokia 6303 classic review: Euro hatch territory - read the full textIf we’re allowed an automotive metaphor, the Nokia 6303 classic is one of those handsets that will get you from A to B without burning rubber at the traffic lights. It’s just how most phones are used: voice call cruising...

checked the nokia site, 17mb internal memory is the correct spec.
about to purchase this phone this week, as i've had the 6300 and an upgrade of that would be perfect, especially due to the poor quality of the voice recorder on the 6300...

your website is excellent
database is huge , one could find most of the mobiles
especially the video recording samples in reviews of different mobiles is an excellent feature
you could further improve by adding video reviews in which one could hear the music player sound quality on the speakerphones & more realistic feel of the phone.
keep it up

hey you gsmarena team i donno where are you swelling these days.i cant find any place where sek850i costs only190 euros.also se w890i costa much higher than this phone.
of all your competitors mentioned this is the cheapest phone and it not at all lags behind anyone(excluding wifi).
considering its price its definitely a great buy.....
you all must first view the price tag then criticize the material.at such a low cost no one could offer you everything.....

A couple of things about 6303 "competitors" suggested at the end of review:
- none of them can shoot video at 640x480
- S40 can be preferred for its unique organizer, as is the only one that plays ocurred (when phone was off) alarms when you turn on the phone

Looks like someone copy/pasted your review, but not before adding strange changes to the grammar. I wouldn't put up with that?

Not sure many would consider this an upgrade from the 6300.

There you have it pal, it's just that mobile phones are usually way more expensive in Europe than in the US.

Here in Portugal it costs about 220 euro...

You forgot to mention the in-built GPS receiver, we have one in our store and the GPS works well.

> In reply to Erick @ 2009-06-08 20:25 from mPtI6500 was a shocking phone mate, way to many problems. Basicly this phone would have to be offered at the same price as the 6300 and even then it is ridiculously ugly in comparison to the 6300. In all honesty the 6300 was a wonderful fluke by nokia, it really hit the right market, but it took 6 months n price drops before it found it. In all honesty it is the benchmark for what most people at least want in a phone, so it sells mass amounts because the carriers (in australia) subsidize it to be nice and cheap and available for any social status.

Overall the features are quite good for the intermediate level handphone. However, I still prefer the layout of 6300 since it looks like more professional than 6303.

Why is there no support for 850mhz? I would buy this in an instant if only it would work in the USA on both frequencies used here...

Just in case you are wondering why Nokia are even bothering to come up with a phone of this spec, the answer is simple. The old Nokia 6300 sells in massive numbers despite being ancient - it's usually in the top 5 (if not the top 3) for most retailers. The 6300 is probably one of Nokia's biggest selling phones ever - and even though they have tried to replace it a couple of times, people still want it!
