> In reply to Rajesh @ 2009-11-26 08:14 from uEBithank god i never bought an e71 ...or wise would have been pissed off with e72...but for a buyer like who is using e72 after e51...it will be a great change...as for the light leak its manageable i guess ...and as u said camera and software is good...i am at peace for that...and for the battery cover prob...its bugging me as i am rough user...anyway thanks for the post rajesh...keep them coming and tell about hows the gaming on e72 as it lacks graphics accelerator. and the main thing which from buying e71 was the 2.5 mm audio jack and the graphics which were gross.

thanks rajesh.

To all friends who have been happy with their E71...DO NOT DITCH YOUR E71...I have been using E72 since 5 or 6 days. On this Saturday 28th November I am going to sell it off...I was never happy with the built quality of E72.

I have noticed that the optical trackpad have started behaving strangely and it is also getting tiny scratched which makes handsets look old. Yesterday I kept E63,E71 and E72 side by side. I realised that E72 is no way similar in looks to E71 and infact It looks 99% similar like E63. Except E72 has good a metalic touch and E63 is Plastic. But Take a closer look to the make of E72 and E71. Take a closer looks on sides where you find Volume and Memory card/usb slot.On E71 90% of the handset is Metal whereas on E72 its only 65%. On E72 the softkeys are brushed metal or it is Designed Hardplastic? Whatever it is, behind it there is a backlight leak which makes handset loose all its charm. Now the Volume keys on side of E72 and the power key ( are these made of metal or hard plastic with chrome finish ). The back cover on E72 dances and twists cha cha cha. Only the camera and software are the winner on E72. But on E71 forum, 90% users of E71 never complained about camera as they thought E71 was a business device and if someone needs a good camera should buy N series.

So happy E71 users, DONT DITCH YOUR E71 FOR E72...DONT DITCH YOUR E71 FOR E72......DONT DITCH YOUR E71 FOR E72.

> In reply to brynn @ 2009-11-26 05:54 from nGxSTo be honest, im going to buy E71 today...Although the price of E72 is nearly double the E71, it is unjustifiable. I am not going to pay double for 3.5mm, an increase of 1.8MP in cam, and extra CPU...Not to mention when i buy the E71, i can update the software and get a very stable system.

After looking round at reports of e71 the cam/video are fine no different to 35mm film i used for years on holiday,,they only used 6 x 4 inch prints and what are people doing with 12 MP..What i mean is dependant on gsms review and price difference i may consider e71,BUT,the extra horsepower,3.5mm jack and better vid/cam keep me into e72..Anyhow its xmas in a month so getting something ...

latest nokia e72 camera samples from india version....

they have come out cool except for some color tint in single flash ....it may not be as good as n95 or n82...but its certainly better than e71...its more than enough for random point and shoots.

I had a Nokia e71 for about a year.
In the end although stylish in looks and satnav worked great I felt the camera/video camera resolution could have been better.
I also struggled to load web pages in realisitic time spans or the by the time
the page was downloading I had web time out issues which meant having to start again. In addition the loading revisiting web pages looked at recently was difficult as I had rto re-load from scratch time and again.
I.E. not able to reconnecxt to web page just recently looked unnlike the Blackberry curve.
Overall its a great little device but the new one needs a tangibly faster and more powerful processor and some tweaking of the features to improve the performance and reliability`. After all when you buy a box of choclates the least one could expect is something delicious inside and thats assuming there is anything inside there at all - Not sure if i will get the E62 or 3GS I-phone as this also needs a bettger processor to cope with ever larger more demanding files and applications - Sweet - The Iceman.

You are right Ness

The E71 is still worth buying.
You'll see a lot of "not so old" cellphones on this site marked 'discontinued' which is a sad thing since some of these phones are pretty darn good.

Some people won't agree because why buy an older version of a device when a new one is available right? :)

I'll try to define the people who should (in my opinion) take the E71:

- people who sms/mms/email/chat a lot
- people who arent bothered with silly comments (e.g. zomg you bought the e72? U R so Lame, E72 is new = better = u suck)
there will always be people like that ^^
- people that just dont care about the trackpad (Compared to the BB8520 the trackpad is in my opinion just to slow, and I also think Nokia should have either gone with the keys or trackpad, not both)
- people who arent interested in the cam
- people who dont spend that much time in the bus/train/plane (3.5" jack)

What you should know Ness, is that webbrowsing on the E71 will be a let down for you. I had a touchscreen phone for a while and went back to my C902. The first few days sucked so hard since the screen difference is something you can get attached on very quickly :).
