Keypad IS illuminated - but only in the dark. The phone has a light sensor (by the front camera) and regulates intensity of display light and turns keypad illumination on and off depending on how light / dark there is.

I think overall it is a good phone, but 'theuser' must be a Nokia employee there is NO WAY the realistic useable standby time is 500hrs more like 200hrs (then it drops very quickly) before it needs charging. Keypad not very precise. some features difficult to find and not very intuative.

its nice phone.
keypad is not quite good when pressed.body material is cheap (looks like plastic) but feel luxurious.
the reason i buy is "turn by turn" facility is free forever, its not like others high rank nokia phone (N series) who use for 6 month trial only.
nokia pcsuite can not be used, install only nokia ovi suite in ur pc or notebook, but at this time the facilities not complete like pcsuite.

According to the nokia website this phone has 400 hr. as standby time.

According to the nokia website this phone does not have autofocus, but full focus(30cm to infinity), so to gsmarena, please verify and make the corrections to the specifications table if necessary.

It will illuminate in pitch dark but not twilight making it difficult to text..a surpising fault at this stage in Nokia design and no light flashing to indicate message or text. Also font is very small and its biggest is not big enough.I loved the 6300 and thought I was geting something similar but the designs are quite different, but I needed a 3g to go with the Gateway as reception here so bad.

Nice neat phone, only disappointment is that the keypads is not illuminated, on the black phone it makes texting in the dark impossible.
